Mining operations anywhere come with a lot of responsibilities. At SMIORE, we have always emphasised scientific and systematic mining operations with paramount importance to the safety of our employees and the communities living in and around Sandur.
SMIORE's mining operations conform to the stringent quality, health and process efficiency norms of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. Moreover, the Company has well-designed systems and processes ensuring workplace safety. The Government of India has conferred SMIORE with the highest safety awards, including the prestigious 'National Safety Awards (Mines)' for the years 1983, 1991 and 2017. These awards are focused on the safety norms in the working conditions for the mineworkers so that the environment is accident-free and has a low injury rate.
Forever committed to the wellbeing of our employees, the Company delivers free medical care through a well-functioning healthcare infrastructure that includes a full-fledged hospital, several dispensaries and periodic medical camps. Having a team of qualified doctors and experienced medical professionals available for diagnosis and treatment helps our employees and their family members receive swift, convenient and free medical care.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took strict measures to stop the spread of the contagious virus while ensuring that all the households keep receiving food, clothing, and other necessary items at their doorstep. The Company also ran a highly successful free vaccination drive with a 100 per cent population above 18 years was inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
